Meaningful Use Road Map

LSS Data Systems has been closely following the Federal regulatory processes regarding Health Information Technology incentives, meaningful use and certification. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services released the Final Rule to define meaningful use and the incentive programs on July 13, 2010. The Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) at the same time also published a Final Rule identifying implementation specification and certification criteria to demonstrate meaningful use.

These two rules updated the proposed definition of meaningful use and the implementation and certification criteria published on January 13, 2010. We have posted Product Road Maps (Client/Server, MAGIC and MPM 6.0) which compare LSS functionality to the Federal requirements. These road maps identify the:

  • Eligible Professional Stage 1 objectives and measures
  • Government calculations for measuring meaningful use
  • Adopted content exchange and vocabulary standards
  • LSS or partner applications needed
  • Strategies for deploying the needed functionality

LSS is also constantly reviewing our products to incorporate any new technologies or features to enhance the usability of our products. This includes new reporting features or other functions that are directly correlated to the new requirements and those which are necessary features to garner adoption of the meaningful use objectives and measures.
