Avera HealtheCARE Forum Showcases EHR Excellence

LSS Data Systems' customer Avera Health hosted its fourth annual HealtheCARE Forum earlier this month in Sioux Falls, SD. Physicians and other health care professionals from many of the organization's 200-plus clinics across the Midwest attended to better understand and incorporate technology and information into their practices.
This forum gave Avera the opportunity to showcase some of the year's achievements, talk about the future of healthcare and address how the economy may impact them and the industry.
For providers looking forward to implementing the LSS Medical and Practice Management (MPM) Suite, the forum also provided a chance to hear about and visualize the implementation as well as the impact and benefits the software can have on their clinics.
LSS staff demonstrated MPM's new documentation tool as well as integrated e-prescribing features through the company's partnership with DrFirst. In panel discussions and other sessions, providers and other health care professionals shared their knowledge and experience using LSS software.
Other sessions included LSS customer Berkshire Health System (Pittsfield, MA), whose staff discussed their EMR adoption and implementation experience, providing suggestions and tips from their software rollout; and two health care providers recently deployed to Iraq presented a powerful session concerning how they helped improve the quality of care by implementing an electronic health records system.
For providers already utilizing MPM, the Avera HealtheCARE Forum created opportunities for sharing best practices, networking with colleagues and collaborating on how to successfully incorporate the EHR into practice.
