LSS and Zynx Health Make Significant Enhancements to Evidence-Based Ambulatory Care Tools

LSS Data Systems and evidence-based health care partner Zynx Health made several significant enhancements in their recent update of clinical content for LSS's Medical and Practice Management (MPM) Suite. Zynx clinical content is updated on a quarterly basis to incorporate the latest evidence from peer-reviewed studies, clinical best practices and national performance measures. 
This evidence is integrated directly into MPM in the form of documentation templates, health maintenance & disease management tools and clinical evidence summaries, which are accessible to providers at the point of care.
During the Quarter 4 2008 update, which is now available to licensed customers, LSS and Zynx made a number of enhancements at both the template and content level. Here is a brief summary of those enhancements:
- Redesigned Prenatal Care Template
The new template structure enables users to enter prenatal visit data in table format for quick review and data trending. - New Standard Content Sections
Standard content now includes Patient Intake, Past Medical, Family and Social History, and Assessment and Plan. - Creation of Print and Download Versions of PFSH
The standard Past Medical, Social and Family History section (PFSH) from Zynx Health, is also available in a printable format (.pdf) as well as an editable Microsoft Excel format (.xls).
Looking forward, the Quarter 1 2009 update (scheduled for release in April) will debut a new approach to template design: The multi-symptom template. This template, designed for Family Practice, will allow providers to collect data on up to 22 common complaints within one template. Also planned for the second quarter release will be a special Physician’s Quality Reporting Initiative (PQRI) section that can be used to document and generate the appropriate codes for participation in the project.
LSS and Zynx continue to work closely to enable the incorporation of real-time, evidence-based ambulatory clinical information directly into the MPM Suite, allowing physicians to access evidence, documentation templates and health maintenance/disease management tools at the point of care.
