2009 Administrative Forum Highlights the Expansion of LSS Customer Outreach
September 9, 2009
This summer, LSS held its 5th bi-annual Administrative Forum, presenting an opportunity for customers to review and provide feedback on upcoming enhancements to the administrative and billing components of the Medical and Practice Management (MPM) product suite. This event – conducted via the web over four consecutive weeks – highlights the expansion of LSS customer outreach activities, and the ability to adjust to meet customer needs.
The forum was the latest in a growing series of customer events LSS has developed to reach out to its software users for feedback related to the company’s products and services.
"Over the past two years in particular, we've made a strong effort to develop new events and channels to engage our customers," said David Pettingell, LSS Director of Billing Products. "Through our user group events, our product forums and our advisory groups, we continue to strive to keep communication open."
In 2009, LSS modified and expanded its user group activities, adding over 20 new web-based classes, two user group seminars and an ARRA webinar (planned for later this fall). And LSS has grown its customer advisory groups, which now include the LSS User Group Board (representing end users of the company's software), the Ambulatory Products Advisory Council (an executive-level body composed of C-level staff from LSS, MEDITECH and customer organizations) and the recently convened Customer Service Forum (to provide feedback regarding product support). LSS has also continued to hold twice yearly Provider Development Forums to solicit direct feedback from physicians and other healthcare providers on the company's clinical applications, and Administrative Forums for its financial and administrative products.
LSS took a different approach with this year's first Administrative Forum, conducting four web conferences over four consecutive weeks to demonstrate new product enhancements and generate feedback enhancements under development. Feedback from participants was very positive.
"I believe this is a great opportunity to provide broad feedback. A perfect forum," said Kevin Klemme, IT Project Leader at Avera Health Systems. "You can get a much larger audience to participate at the fraction of the cost."
During one of the web conferences, Tricia Pyle, Clinic IS Specialist at Citizens Memorial Healthcare, shared her experiences as an early adopter of the LSS Patient Portal, describing the processes she and her organization developed to successfully roll out the new functionality. This session resulted in an excellent dialog among customer participants around best practices for patient engagement and online access.
LSS will continue to foster customer input through outreach programs like the LSS User Group, Provider Development Forum, Customer Service Forum, Ambulatory Products Advisory Council, web-based Feedback Portals and more.
