Parkview Adventist Recognized for IT Leadership and EMR Adoption

LSS Data Systems customer Parkview Adventist Medical Center (Brunswick, ME) continues to receive national attention for their healthcare IT progress and leadership.
InformationWeek Healthcare recently highlighted Parkview's achievements in an article titled "EMR Adoption Earns Hospital High Score" and CIO Bill McQuaid was identified as one of Computerworld's 100 Premier IT Leaders in America for 2010. McQuaid was selected from over 1,000 nominations for the annual award, which spotlights men and women driving positive change in their businesses through the use of information technology.
Earlier in 2009 Parkview Adventist was recognized for achieving Stage 6 Electronic Medical Record adoption recognition from HIMSS Analytics. Parkview is one of only 74 hospitals in the U.S. and Canada to reach this stage.
"Our success has been a measure of the efforts of our whole team," said McQuaid. "We chose a vendor with MEDITECH and LSS who supported our goal of providing a truly integrated patient record spanning all of our care settings. We have worked diligently to realize the success we have achieved thus far and the positive recognition we at Parkview have received has been an affirmation of all of our planning and hard work.
