Patient Portal
The LSS Patient Portal provides patients with an intuitive, secure, web-based method of access to portions of their medical records through your organization's web site. The portal design accommodates access to health record information, a mechanism for secure communications between patients and their care providers, and options for making credit card or PayPal™ payments with online bill pay features.
Control of Data
With the LSS Patient Portal, your organization determines which of the following information will be accessible by your patients via the Internet:
- Medical problems
- Medications
- Immunizations
- Allergies
- Lab results
- Vital signs
A set of customizable functions enables your organization to tailor the portal to meet the needs of your patient community. Patients may perform the following functions via the portal:
- View and edit future appointments
- Request new appointments
- Request a refill on a prescription
- Add a medication to the patient's active medication list
- View detailed visit history (including the option of viewing progress notes)
- View online statements
- Online bill pay
- Update personal demographic information
- Complete pre-appointment questionnaires*

Information updated by patients does not immediately change their medical records but rather is routed to appropriate staff within your organization for review and final approval.
Secure Messaging
In addition to the functions previously enumerated, your organization may choose to allow patients to send and receive secure messages via the portal to their providers or designated support staff. Messages may flow directly to the Physician's Desktop or be routed to selected nurses or other medical staff for followup.
Data Security
The LSS Patient Portal utilizes SSL encryption to ensure secure, confidential viewing and submission of information. It has been designed to allow your organization to incorporate it into your existing web site, with a flexible color scheme and changeable graphics to match the look and feel of your existing web design.
